In the wake of the Tuscaloosa Tornado on April 27, AAFT was forced to cancel its annual fundraiser, the Joel A. Mask Golf Classic. We did not, however, cancel our scholarship awards. Therefore, to cover the investment in our advertising students, we have rescheduled the golf tournament for September 16. Get all the details and register online here.

AAF Tuscaloosa is a proud sponsor of Heroes in the Storm – a celebration of those individuals who made significant contributions to the tornado rescue effort in Tuscaloosa. Featuring a long list of celebrity guests and performers, this special event will take place at 7pm in the North End Zone at Bryant Denny Stadium on July 15. AAF Tuscaloosa After the Tornado

The May meeting, which is our annual Joel A. Mask Golf Tournament was cancelled due to the tornado that came through Tuscaloosa on April 27th. So, on May 6th (date of golf tourney) we joined up with Samaritan’s Purse and volunteered in our community. June meeting was held at Carpe Vino that was a fundraiser (“uncork2support”) to help raise money for our University of Alabama scholarships that were given out in April. We also installed our new AAFT board for 2011-2012. In July, we are planning a volunteer day instead of a regular meeting. As you can see, many things changed in Tuscaloosa on April 27th but every day is a new day and getting better. Thanks to all the clubs and individuals that reached out to our club and members. Looking forward to a great 2011-2012 year!
