Chair of the National American Advertising Awards Committee
Michele has been a member of AAF – Tuscaloosa since 1987 serving as President of the organization in 1993 and 1998. She was awarded Ad Person of the year in 1991 and 1996, the AAF – District 7 Governor’s Award for Volunteer of the year in 1996, District 7 President of the Year in 1998, the Silver Medal Award in 2002, and the Harry Hoile Former Governor’s Award in 2009. She was elected and served as Alabama State Director for District 7 in 1999 and 2000 and was elected to serve on the Executive Committee in 2001. She continued to advance up the ranks of the Executive Committee until reaching the office of Governor in 2007. She has represented District 7 on the National American Advertising Awards committee since 2008. In 2009 AAF Board Chair Murray Gaylord of the New York Times appointed Massey to an ADDY task force to evaluate regional competitions across the country. In 2011, Michele served on the task force to update and revise the Student ADDYs competition. Her work on these task forces resulted in a National appointment in 2012 by AAF President and CEO Jim Datri as the Vice Chairman of the National American Advertising Awards committee. She begins this new AAA season as Co Chair of the committee along with Greg Branch of AMPM in Midland, Michigan.
