About Jim Page
Jim Page is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, a Tuscaloosa-based membership organization serving over 60,000 working men and women through more than 1,100 business enterprises, civic organizations and educational institutions. He is responsible for management of the professional staff and has oversight of all Chamber programs. Jim serves as lead spokesman for the Chamber on public policy issues and economic development initiatives. He works directly with the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, foundation and political action committee.
Prior to his tenure in Tuscaloosa, Jim served nine years as Vice President of Public Policy and Business Development for the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce in Decatur, Alabama. In that role, he was responsible for government relations and lobbying at the local, state and federal levels, as well as managing the Chamber’s political action committee. Jim also led the highly successful retail recruitment and development efforts of the City of Decatur through a partnership between the Chamber and Decatur City Council. Preceding his time in Decatur, Jim was a political consultant with the Montgomery-based lobbying firm of Fine, Geddie and Associates.
Jim is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama and serves on the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Alabama. A member of the Rotary Club of Tuscaloosa, Jim is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of Decatur and past president of the Decatur Jaycees. He served two terms as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Morgan-Lawrence Chapter of the American Red Cross. In addition, he led the establishment of the First Grace Child Development Center at the First United Methodist Church of Decatur and served as its founding Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Jim has received the Alabama Jaycees’ Outstanding Chapter President Award, as well as the Outstanding Board Member Award from the Morgan-Lawrence Chapter of the American Red Cross. In 2009, he was recognized by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives as one of 40 Under 40: Rising Stars of the Chamber World. Jim is a graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa, Leadership Alabama and the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management. In 2011, Jim earned the professional designation of Certified Chamber Executive (CCE), the highest achievement in the Chamber industry.
Raised on his family’s cattle farm near Grant, Alabama, Jim holds a degree in Political Science and Marketing from the University of North Alabama, where he was elected president of the Student Government Association and later served on the Board of Directors of the National Alumni Association. He and his wife, Sara, are the proud parents of a five year-old daughter, Elly, and are members of Saint Mark United Methodist Church.
